Transportation from/to Oakland Airport:
As detailed below, the JFSLA will offer a bus service to pick up students at the Oakland Airport on Sunday, July 25th, 2010. This same bus service will be available on Friday, July 30th, 2010, returning students back to the Oakland Airport.
Arrival:The JFSLA will arrange for one bus pickup at the Oakland Airport on Sunday, July 25th.
The designated pickup time will be 1:30 pm. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, a JFSLA student misses the 1:30pm pickup time, a JFSLA representative will remain at the airport to meet her. Necessary arrangements will be made for alternative transportation to the St. Mary’s campus. The student and the JFSLA representative may need to take a commercial shuttle or taxi to the Academy site. Any additional cost for back-up transportation services will be charged directly to the parent/guardian of each student.
The JFSLA staff will have a list of all arriving students that are requiring transportation to the academy. Due to heightened security at airports, a JFSLA representative will not be able to meet students at their designated gates. Therefore, we ask that you please advise your daughter to proceed to the Southwest terminal/baggage claim area upon her arrival. A JFSLA representative will be holding a JFSLA sign and will wait at this location from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. At approximately 1:30 p.m., the representative will lead students to a waiting bus just outside the airport, which will depart for the St. Mary’s campus. If you experience any complications, or if you need to report any travel delays/changes, please call (949) 648-2050.
The JFSLA asks that you advise your daughter to remain inside the airport under all circumstances. Although your daughter may see the JFSLA bus waiting just outside the airport in its designated location, we’d like to assure her safety and ask that she remain inside and look for our JFSLA representatives before exiting the airport.
**Students requiring transportation will be contacted by the JFSLA staff (in the form of a parent letter sent via email) at least a week prior to the 1st day of the academy. At this time, we will confirm the designated meeting location at the Oakland Airport.**
Please Note: The JFSLA representative(s) will be at the Southwest terminal/baggage claim area at 12:00 pm (no earlier) on July 25th. If your daughter’s flight will be arriving before 12:00pm, again we ask that she remain in the airport under all circumstances. We also ask that she call (949) 648-2050 to notify the JFSLA staff of her arrival.
