We had three incredible Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy (JFSLA) weeks again this past summer, along with our Julie Foudy Soccer Camps.
We are so excited to be heading to those same sites for the 6th year of the JFSLA in 2011 (a special thank you to Mia Hamm for helping with the New Jersey site while I was away at the World Cup in South Africa for ESPN!).
The Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy (JFSLA) was founded with one idea in mind. How do we help give girls the tools to unlock their potential for greatness, both on the field and in life. We use soccer as the conduit, but also a lot of laughter, energy, and leadership skills training.
The Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy is a six-day soccer and leadership residential academy for girls ages 12-18. Our aim is to give our students the best of both worlds: they learn soccer from some of the best women's players in the world, AND they are exposed to a multitude of leadership concepts they can cultivate for life.

At the JFSLA, we have always believed that you do not need a gold medal or a captain’s arm band to lead. Leadership is personal, not positional. We can ALL make a positive difference in this world. The choice is yours so as we say at the Academy, CHOOSE TO MATTER!
And equally important, as I learned while playing for the Women’s National Team… LOVE what you do! Laughter permitted.
